Front view of "new" Lawrence Public Library as seen from the Common on the Haverhill St. side. The Library sits at the corner of Lawrence and Haverhill Streets.
The ultra modern structure is made of light concrete with many windows. The large metal object outside was the subject of much controversy when
it was installed. Most people did not understand the significance of the object to the Library. It was later moved to the side of the new
Patricia McGovern Transportation Building at the corner of Merrimack and So. Union St.
