This object is a blue tinted plastic cup celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Lawrence Experiment Station. In white lettering it says "Lawrence Experiment Station 1887 - 1987." Above these words is the seal of Massachusetts, as well as the latin words "Ense petit placidam sub libertate quietem." This is often loosely translated as "by the sword we seek peace, but peace only under liberty," but is literally translated as "she seeks with the sword a quiet peace under liberty."
