A portrait of Eli Lacaillade, a prominent grocer and, later, undertaker in Lawrence. He is wearing a suit, overcoat and hat. He is pictured from the waist up and is looking straight on at the camera. See Lacaillade Family folder in Individuals & Families box in closed stacks, which includes Eli's undertaker's license.
On the back of the photo the following is written:
