This photograph shows a skirmish that took place during a Lawrence High School football game against a team from Sommerville, Massachusetts. Number 16 (Lawrence LeFebre) has the football and is running down the field as a player from the other team unsuccessfully tries to tackle him. Players from both teams can be seen running toward him. Spectators, and possibly coaches, can be seen standing on the sidelines. There are multi-family houses behind the field. The scoreboard indicates that it is the second quarter, third down, and neither team has scored.
