"Portrait of Lawrence Canoe Club"
This is a group photo of the Lawrence Canoe Club (LCC). Charles Lawrence Patterson was an officer of the LCC and is likely included in the photo. The group is arranged around a canoe on a beach. Some sit in the cone, some stand behind it, and some sit in front on the sand. They hold paddles, and umbrellas. Some are wrapped in blankets to keep warm. There are 20 members in the photo who range in age from about 10 to 60 years. There are five women in the photo, wearing dresses and shower caps to keep their hair dry. The men and boys' clothing varies. Some are wearing athletic gear labeled with the LCC logo. One older gentleman smoked a cigar and wears a sweater with a large L on it, presumably for "Lawrence". One is dressed in a nice shirt and tie. In the background a man and young child can be seen, but they don't appear to be part of the group photo. The photo is very bright and most of the background is too washed out to see.
