From the Patterson family papers
This is a group photo of about 35 men and women ranging in age. They could be students or members of a theatre group. Charles Patterson is in the group, but not identified. They are posing on a stage in front of a backdrop with a black curtain and four banners are displayed on top. The banners read "Wheaton", "BC", "Smith", and "Andover". On the top edge of the photo a man's hands can be seen resting above the stage. The women are mostly wearing light colored dresses, with flowers, headbands, and feathers decorating their hair. There are two older women who are wearing black. The men wear dark suits, white shirts and ties. There are two comics displayed on the wall behind the group, but they are faded and small. One appears to be a football comic which reads "Skirting the End, Tearing off the . . ." The other comic is illegible. There is no record of who this group is. There is a handwritten note on the back which states "Char. Patterson".
