This photograph shows Mayor Lawrence LeFebre speaking at a podium on a stage. This was part of the ceremony at which the city of Lawrence was awarded grant money for the Lawrence Heritage State Park. On the back of the photograph Mayor LeFebre wrote that the money was awarded after Governor Edward King tried to "strong arm" him into supporting his candidacy for Governor.
