This wooden plaque has a metal plate on it. The plate contains a replica of the front page of the "New York Times'" Section 4, "The Week in Review." The article on the plaque is called "A Town's 'Amnesia'" by Paul Cowan. It was written on Sunday, March 30, 1980. It discuss the Bread and Roses Strike, the Congressional hearings which took place as a result of the strike, the role of Camella Teoli in getting better working conditions for mill workers, the God and Country Parade, and the refusal to acknowledge the strike by residents of Lawrence. It also discusses the fact that Mayor Lawrence LeFebre was breaking with history and celebrating the strike on April 27th.
