A tattered US map in the front of the book shows where white and Native American populations resided in 1874, as well as "range or hunting grounds." Author Walker is listed as the "Late US Commissioner of Indian Affairs."

This book was part of the Pacific Mills Library and eventually the Lawrence Public Library from which it was withdrawn.

UPDATE: In January 2016, the Collections Committee ruled that this book is never to be de-accessioned or removed from the collection due to its historic value.

Except for the folded map in the front of the book, this volume appears to be in good condition.
