Photograph of People at the Mahrajan Festival
Title (generic)
Photograph
This photograph depicts two men, Botnos Dow and Youseph Saade (in charge of the fire) and a woman, Catherine Saade, in native Lebanese dress taking part in the Mahrajan Festival which celebrates the ethnicity every year over the Labor Day weekend. The women of the community cook the foods of their native land and a band plays the music from that country. The Lebanese Cemetery on No. Lowell St. Methuen was where the Festival began but after a few years it moved to the location of St. Anthony's Church on Amesbury St. in Lawrence.
