Ralph Bicknell was born in Lawrence October 31, 1881 and died March 31, 1904. He was the editor of the "Essex School Journal" a publication of his grammar school . Biographical sketch of Ralph is located p 17 - 25. Photograph
An inscription in the front cover reads "Presented to Mr. John W. Bolton and Family Lawrence, Mass. In memory of our dear Ralph with the compliments of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Bicknell"
