On the table is a glass of holy water and leaves she uses to sprinkle participants, crucifix, lit candles and images of Our Lady of Altagracia, patroness of the Dominican Republic. Many Dominicans do this nine days after loved ones die and on their 6th month and one year anniversary. Her head is covered in a mantilla.
