"1929 Polish National Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception congregation"
The Congregation and clergy of the Polish National Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception are posed outside in winter. Printed on image, " P.N.S. OD. 159 - 1929- Lawrence, Mass." Many of the women are wearing fur trimmed winter coats and hats. The men are wearing heavy dress coats. Houses are visible in the background. See Oral history # 541-542 by Severina Gorzela in which she talks about "the development of the Polish National Catholic Church as a spin-off from the Roman Catholic Church. It was organized to be more democratic. The Immaculate Conception Polish National Catholic Church building was erected in 1926 and became a major part of the Polish culture in Lawrence."
