Lawrence History Center Hosts 47th Annual Meeting; Welcomes Three New Board Members; Features Keynote on the 1913 Lawrence Bathhouse Tragedy
Lawrence, MA – On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Lawrence History Center (LHC) held its 47th Annual Meeting and Open House in hybrid format (in person and on Zoom). Board President Sara Morin presided over the meeting, during which board member Mary Guerrero was appointed 2nd Vice President, Mike Morris, Jr. and Jineyda Tapia renewed their three-year terms, and three new members — Peter Rayno, Richard Robichaud, and Nicole Sabando — were elected by the membership to their first three-year terms.
The event, marking 47 years since LHC’s founding, took place in the historic Essex Company Stable, part of the Essex Company Office & Yard, a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Before the business meeting began, Executive Director Susan Grabski shared the sad news of the passing of Kathleen S. Flynn, a beloved colleague and friend, on August 23, 2025. Flynn contributed to the organization across five decades. The board is considering ways to honor her legacy, including naming her Researcher Emeritus and establishing a research fellowship in her name. A moment of silence was observed in her memory.
Sara Morin called the meeting to order at 10:04 AM...
