" There's one thing two tailors from Italy never altered during their entire career. Quality."
Richard Grieco in brochure Welcome to the Family ~Southwick.
My father, Nicholas Grieco, and uncle, Vito Grieco, started this business of making quality, natural shoulder men's clothing in 1929. They were among the industry's most meticulous manufacturers. And seeing them work the factory floors was a sight to behold.
Nothing was to small to escape their attention, whether it was finding a loose thread on the shoulder, or triumphantly spotting a button off my a mere sixteenth of an inch. To them, something worth doing was worth doing well. And they instilled that same belief in the people who worked for them. It wasn't just a product on the line; it was their pride.
My father and uncle are gone now, but their values are very much alive....we still make every suit in our own factory. In fact , many of our employees are the sons and daughters, nephews and nieces of the craftsmen who learned dedication to perfection under my father.
Fabrics are cut on the straight of the cloth, to insure proper drape. There are 200 stitches in every shoulder and armhole. And every one is hand-stitched for softness and comfort. Th collar and lapels are positioned by hand for a perfect roll. the pattern of the material, whether striped or plaid, matches precisely at the sleeve, lapel, back seam, breast pocket, and pocket flaps. Every coat has a stitched front canvas, which adds body to the silhouette and protects against puckering when cleaned. Trousers are constructed with a one-piece waistband, which is thinner, smother, and laster longing.
Of course, it wouldn't make sense to use superior construction on anything less than superior materials. We select fabric from the world's finest mills. Each bolt is individually scrutinized and sponged for stability. And every jacket is lined with genuine Bemberg lining."
