Records from The Greater Lawrence Italian Women's Club (GLIWC) from the years 1933-2013. The club is still active and going strong and we hope they will continue to donate material to add to this collection. In 2013 The Lawrence History Center partnered with GLIWC to help them create an exhibit to celebrate their 80th Anniversary. The title of the exhibit was 80th Anniversary Exhibition The Tradition Continues. A reception was held in The Everett Mill on May 14, 2013. As a result of this partnership the Club agreed to donate their records to LHC. We also hoped to start an Oral History project where members of the club would interview each other. This project hasn't happened yet, but we are not ruling it out as a possibility. Their donation includes:
Surveys taken on the night of the exhibit opening on May 14, 2013. These surveys were completed by GLIWC members and answer questions regarding when and why they joined the club, favorite activities and events the club hosted, changes seen over the course of their membership and favorite memories.
