Guilmette School Visitors

Thursday, July 31, 2008 the most extraordinary children walked one and half miles (as did their teachers! ) to visit the Lawrence History Center! Armed with note books and questions as well plans for the future, this enrichment group from the Guilmette along with teachers, Liz and Maria, spent two hours with the invincible volunteer, Jonathan Smith.
Walking in the Essex Company vault, looking at pictures, and viewing with awe the forge, studying the courtyard panels - these students were curious, attentive and a bit weary from the journey to the Center. The two previous days they toured the canal district, the dam and the Lawrence Heritage State Park. No one could say they spent their summer days in front of the television! Here are a few photos of their "historical" visit.
